Ars Vitalis: The New Jersey Music Forum will bring three distinguished guest composers to Kean University's Enlow Recital Hall on Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. An arts initiative which showcases the works of prominent New Jersey composers, Ars Vitalis provides a concert forum for the presentation of new works. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Matthew Halper, Ars Vitalis introduces audiences to the allure, the drama and the impact of the living art of contemporary music composition.
The concert will include works by 1999 Pulitzer Prize winner Melinda Wagner and other notables. All composers will be in attendance and will meet and greet audience members at a post-concert reception.
"For 16 years Kean has been hosting some of the finest New Jersey area composers, this year continues that trend," said Halper, a professor in Kean's Department of Music. "Kean audiences get to meet the composers behind the music, and get to hear our exceptional Concert Artist faculty in our beautiful Enlow Hall."
Featured performers include:
Margaret Swinchoski, flute; Donald Mokrynski, clarinet;
Ron Levy, piano; Jorge Caballero, guitar;
